Your child’s first dental appointment is special and we want it to be a positive experience so they can have a lifetime of good oral health. Please download new patient forms from our website and bring the completed forms with you. If you are transferring from another dental office, please request that information/x-rays be sent to our office in advance of your appointment. We have books, games, and toys to help put your child at ease. We will count your child’s teeth, perform a dental cleaning, examination, and fluoride treatment. X-rays are taken when needed. We ask that you do not prepare your child – let us do all the work. We will teach both of you how to effectively clean your child’s teeth, review diets and snacking, and how to prevent dental injuries.
If your child has dental anxiety, keep in mind that it’s okay, and we will work with families together. Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and will do everything we can to make your visit with us a positive one. Our office was designed with children, adolescents and young adults in mind. Sometimes it is fear of the unknown that causes the most anxiety, so we sometimes suggest Heidi Murkoff’s “What to Expect When You Go to the Dentist”
